Company History
I didn’t have any work lined up at first; I had only a ladder, some hand tools, and a pick-up truck. I was able to get a little work here and there. To supplement my income between construction jobs, I baled hay for a local farmer. As a part of working on the farm, I began to do the repair work on the roof of his barn. As I acquired more construction work, I realized I needed more manpower. I got a crew together and in 1981 I started sub-contracting off of a contractor in Allentown. For 2 ½ years my crew and I took all of his roofing, siding, remodeling (kitchens, bathrooms etc.), and concrete work. In the winter of 1984 I visited the last contractor I had been employed by to see if he had any sub-contract work. As a result, my crew and I started a large siding project which lasted six months. After the project was complete, I sub-contracted roofing and siding work through 1986. |

| Although I was doing a lot of sub-work, I was also building my business with work I contracted on my own. In the spring of 1987 I had built my business to where I could stop sub-contracting. I did all phases of remodeling and additions, including roofing. Although there was a kind of prestige in doing work like additions and kitchens, I received more personal satisfaction from doing roofing work. | ||||

The big decision to become a roofing company came in 1996. My youngest son Adam, who worked with me during the summer breaks, graduated high school and came to work with me full-time. It did not take long for us to realize we were natural roofers. Since that time, I have trained Adam to be a journeyman roofer and he now supervises all work on the roof. In December of 1999, my oldest son Jesse was home on break from East Stroudsburg University and helping us on a job. I explained to him how we needed someone to handle the estimating, selling and administrative work of our growing business. When he graduated in May of 2000 he began working for us full-time. |
